Southern Milky Way from Atacama Lodge, Chile (latitude 23° S) taken March 15/16, 2010. Taken witn Canon 5D MkII (modified) and Sigma 8mm circular fish-eye lens for stack of 4 x 8 minute exposures at f/4.5. Taken early in the night with "winter" Milky Way still up. Milky Way extends from Orion to Centaurus. Two Magellanic Clouds also visible. South is at bottom, north at top. Glow at top is from lights of San Pedro.
