Vela to Centaurus Milky Way Mosaic (35mm 5DII).jpg
A 4-segment mosaic of the southern Milky Way from Vela (right) to Centaurus (left) taking in Carina and Crux (centre). Part of a larger 10-segment mosaic of the entire southern Milky Way shot in March 2010 from the Atacama Lodge, near San Pedro do Atacama in Chile. Each segment is a stack of 4 x 6 minute exposures at f/4 with a Canon L-series 35mm lens and modified Canon 5D MkII camera at ISO 800, plus an additional 6-minute exposure with the Kenko Softon filter layered in to add star glows.
