Waxing Moon over Mistaya Valley at Sunset
Waxing Moon Over Mistaya Valley (28-70mm R5).jpg
This is the waxing gibbous Moon in the evening twilight sky, over the MIstaya Valley on the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park, Alberta.
The peaks are lit by the last red rays of the setting Sun — alpenglow. The river in the foreground is the North Saskatchewan, but the valley in the distance contains the smaller Mistaya River which flows into the North Saskatchewan here at Saskatchewan River Crossing. The peak at left is Mount Chephren; to the right is Epaulette Mountain, and at far right is Mount Sarbach.
This was on a fine night on July 16, 2024.
Technical:
This is an HDR blend of 7 exposures at 1/3rd stop bracketing, with the RF28-70mm lens at 57mm and f/5.6 on the Canon R5 at ISO 100. Blended in Adobe Camera Raw.
