This is Comet Machholz near the Pleiades on January 5, 2005. It shows the blue ion tail and the short dust tail at right angles to the ion tail below the comet head.

Technical:
Taken with the 200mm f/2.8 lens at f/3.2, for 5 minutes, unguided, at ISO 400 with the Canon Digital Rebel camera.
