Aurora from Home (Dec 1, 2023) with Canon R6.jpg
This is a Kp-level 5 aurora on December 1, 2023 at the start of the show, with prominent red curtains above the lower altitude green band. This was from home in southern Alberta on the second night of an active storm, with the aurora going as it got dark this night, and showing the greatest red colouration at the beginning of the show.
This is looking east. Taurus and the Pleiades are rising at right. Auriga is at centre; Perseus at top.
This is a single 20-second exposure with the Canon R6 at ISO 800 and Venus Optics 15mm lens at f/2.
