Aurora Panorama from Home (July 29, 2024).jpg
A 180° panorama of the Kp5-level aurora on July 29, 2024, with a green arc, and blue, magenta and red rays, and a blend of red and green yielding yellow to the east behind an irrigation boom working the canola field. Shot from home in southern Alberta, latitude 51° N.
The Big Dipper and Arcturus are at left, Polaris is near upper centre, and Cassiopeia, Andromeda and Pegasus are at right of centre rising in the northeast and east.
This is a panorama of 8 segments, each 30-second exposures with the Viltrox 16mm lens at f/2 on the Nikon Z6III at ISO 800. Segments processed through Adobe DeNoise AI and stitched with PTGui with equirectangular projection. Camera Raw refused to stitch four of the segments, though another panorama taken minutes later it stitched fine.
