A 360° view of the aurora from Churchill, Manitoba, on March 3, 2016 when the lights started out extensive and fairly bright at the start of the night but then faded and subsided. The camera is aimed just east of due north. The Big Dipper is at centre.
This is a frame from a 360-frame time-lapse sequence shot with the 8mm fish-eye lens and Canon 6D for projection in digital planetarium domes. Each frame was 15 seconds at f/3.5 and ISO 3200.
