A 270° panorama of the aurora in the evening twilight on August 11, 2024, from the 70 Mile Butte trailhead in Grasslands National Park, West Block, near Val Marie in Saskatchewan.
A Kp6 to 7-level display was underway here in the twilight at 10 pm CST, and peaked after local midnight. The Big Dipper is at left, Polaris is at upper left of centre, and Cassiopeia is at centre. Sagittarius is just in frame at far right. This is looking northwest (at left) to south (at far right).
This is a panorama of 11 segments, each 15 seconds with the Venus Optics manual focus 15mm lens at f/2.8 on the Canon R5 at ISO 800. Stitched with Adobe Camera Raw. The original is 18,700 by 4,500 pixels.
