A “cloud streak” photo made using the same techniques as in stacking star trails only its the clouds trailing, or streaking. I shot this Canada Day, July 1, 2015 from Scotsman Hill overlooking Calgary, awaiting the fireworks. This is a stack of 110 frames, merged with Advanced Stacker Actions using the Ultrastreaks action. Despite the blending, the ~ 8s gap between exposures still led to gaps in the streaks - you’d have to shoot at 1s intervals to eliminate them. To smooth out the gaps I added a duplicate layer for the sky with a Radial Blur filter applied to further streak the clouds. I also blended in another longer exposure taken later in the sequence, blended using Lighten mode at reduced opacity, to add the city lights to the foreground scene. The frames were from a 770-frame time-lapse sequence with the Canon 6D and 24mm lens
