Moon and Venus Conjunction at Dawn - Portrait (June 19, 2020).jpg
The very thin waning crescent Moon some 28 days old below Venus then emerging into the dawn as a morning star for the rest of 2020. This was at dawn on June 19, 2020. The Moon occulted Venus a few hours earlier as seen from eastern North America. By the time they rose over my horizon in Alberta, the Moon had moved eastward and was about 1.5° from Venus. The crescent of Venus is just visible at this focal length.
This was with the 200mm telephoto lens with the 1.4x Extender for 280mm focal length and with the Canon 6D MKII. This is a vertical portrait version; there is a horizontal landscape version.
