Comet Schwassmann-Wachmann, 73P, on Aprl 29, 2006, The comet is a short-period Jupiter-family comet that was seen to begin breakling up in 1995. At this return in 2006 it was in several pieces, as many as 66. I think these were the largest, fragment C (left) and B (right).
Technical:
A single 2 minute exposure with the Canon 135mm lens at f/2 on the Canon 20Da, at ISO400, taken 4 am April 29, 2006.. Reprocessed in 2025.
