About 1000 people gathered at the Rothney Observatory near Calgary for the July 23, 2016 stargazing night, under very clear skies on a warm summer night. Moonlight did light the sky but good views of lots of celestial sights were had by all. About a dozen telescopes were on hand operated by members of the RASC, Calgary Centre.
