Rising Nearly Full Moon (September 16, 2024).jpg
This is the Moon rising the day before it was full, on September 16, 2024. The Moon was full the next night, Sept. 17, when it also went into the Earth's shadow for a minor partial eclipse after moonrise. That was also the Harvest Moon and it was a supermoon. But technically, this is not a supermoon.
This night, Sept. 16, a major aurora showed up in progress as it got dark shortly after I took this image.
This is a single 1/30-sec exposure with the modified Canon R at ISO 100 on the Founder Optics Draco62 astrograph at 300mm focal length and f/4.8. Tracked on the AP400 mount.
