Evening Zodiacal Light.jpg
The evening Zodiacal Light on January 16, 2015, from City of Rocks State Park, New Mexico, with Mercury and Venus clpse together just above the horizon at centre. The Zodiacal Light is sunlight reflected off cometary dust particles in the inner solar system around the orbits of Mercury and Venus and out to the orbit of Earth and beyond. So this scene captures 3 of the components of the inner solar system: Mercury, Venus and interplanetary dust. This is a single untracked exposure of 30 seconds at f/2.8 with the 15mm lens and Canon 6D at ISO 1600.
