Saturn at Opposition at Waterton Lakes (June 15, 2017).jpg
Saturn (the bright object at centre) at opposition and brightest for the year on June 15, 2017, over Maskinonge Pond at Waterton Lakes National Park, and shining amid clouds and the Milky Way.
I shot this at one of my annual Workshops at Waterton, on a cloudy night but with some clear breaks now and then. This is a stack of 5 x 25-second exposures for the ground, mean combined to smooth noise, and one 25-second exposure for the sky, all at f/2 and ISO 4000, with the Sigma 24mm lens and Nikon D750.
