Mars in Aquarius (Nov 28, 2018).jpg
A wide view of Mars shining brightly in the constellation of Aquarius on November 28, 2018. Taken from my backyard in the early evening, as Mars was setting into the southwest. I shot this 2 days after the Mars InSight landing on the planet, making for three working landers/rovers now on Mars, plus six in orbit.
This is a stack of 6 x 30-second exposures for the ground to smooth noise, and one 30-second exposure for the sky, all with the Venus Optics 15mm lens at f/2.8 and Sony a7III at ISO 1600. A generous application of Nik Color EFX Pro filters added the ground glow look, while a Luminar Orton effect enhances the sky.
