Autumn Constellations over Cirrus Mountain (20mm Z6III).jpg
The northern autumn constellations rising in a moonlit sky over the ridge of Cirrus Mountain in Banff National Park, Alberta, with the mountain lit by the warm light of the setting waxing Moon. A magenta aurora, visible only to the camera, lights the northeastern sky at left.
At top left is the W of Cassiopeia. Below it is Perseus, with Andromeda and Pegasus to the right. The Andromeda Galaxy is at centre.
Taken from (indeed on!) the Icefields Parkway at the Parker Ridge trail parking area.
This is a single 20-second untracked exposure with the Nikkor 20mm lens at f/2 and the Nikon Z6III at ISO 1600. Adobe DeNoise AI applied. Taken July 15m 2024 on a clear smokeless night. This serves as an example of a single one-shot nightscape with no exposure blending or stacking.
