Officially this was no better than a weak Kp1 level aurora this night and at the start of the night the aurora was just a dim arc across the sky to the naked eye. But about 11 pm the display brightened for a corwd-pleasing show. This is looking northwest from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre on the first night of the first group of the 2023 aurora season for the CNSC.

This is a single 15-second exposure with the TTArtisan 11mm full-frame fish-eye lens at f/2.8 on the Canon R6 at ISO 1600.
