Perseus OB Association (SS61 R6).jpg
The large starfield in Perseus known as the Perseus OB Association, surrounding the bright star Mirfak, or Alpha Persei, above centre. It is also known as Melotte 20, the Perseus Moving Cluster. This star grouping is a fine object for binoculars. The 7.5 x 5° field is close to a binocular field of view.
This is a stack of 12 x 5-minute exposures with the SharpStar 61mm apo refractor at f/4.5 and with the Canon R6 at ISO 800. An additional exposure through a Kase/Alyn Wallace StarGlow filter adds the star glows. Diffraction spikes added with Asrtronomy Tools Actions. Taken from home October 1, 2021.
