Planet Lineup (6x7 55mm) 03-28-04.jpg
Lineup of planets in March 2004 -- with Mercury just visible low in west above horizon at centre bottom. Venus is brightest object, above that Pleiades cluster, and above that Mars (red object with Aldebaran as similar object at left of Mars in Hyades. Taken March 28, 2004, evening, from home...Venus and Mercury both near greatest elongation east of Son so both planets at greatest angle away from Sun and at maximum altitude...Pentax 6x7 camera with 120-format Fujichrome 100F film, and 55mm wide-angle lens. Exposure 6 minutes, tracked so that horizon lights are trailed. Minimal processing to avoid dithering of colors in sky. Glow layer added to enlarge stars somewhat.
