Moonset over Stutfield Glacier (28-70mm R5).jpg
The last bit of moonlight shines above the mountain ridge as the waxing gibbous Moon sets behind the Stutfield Glacier and Peak, in Jasper National Park, on the Icefields Parkway. This was July 15, 2024 on a very clear night in the Rocky Mountains. The Moon casts shadows back from the few and well-placed clouds in the sky.
The Peak and Glacier were named in 1899 by J. Norman Collie for Hugh Stutfield, a pioneering 19th century mountaineer who climbed with Collie.
Technical:
This is a single 8-second exposure with the RF28-70mm lens at 59mm and f/2.8 on the Canon R5 at ISO 400. Untracked, and so serving as an example of a single image processed with AI masks and noise reduced with Adobe DeNoise AI.
