Aurora Curtains with Big Dipper in Moonlight #5 (Feb 25, 2023).jpg
A fine showing of auroral curtains in the northeastern sky, with the Big Dipper and Ursa Major at upper left, with the sky and ground also illumimnated by the light of the waxing crescent Moon. This was February 25, 2023 from the observing deck at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, Churchill, Manitoba. A touch of nitrogen pink is visible at top.
This is one of a series of images showing the evolution of the aurora and variations in the curtains.
This is a single 4-second exposure with the Venus Optics 15mm lens at f/2 and Canon R6 at ISO 1000.
