Comet Schwassmann-Wachmann, 73P, on April 22/23, 2006. The comet is a short-period Jupiter-family comet that was seen to begin breakling up in 1995. At this return in 2006 it was in several pieces, as many as 66. This was one of the largest, Fragment B with the smaller Fragment G at upper right.
There is an image taken the same night of Fragment C.

A single exposure at ISO 800 taken April 23, 2006 with the 5-inch Astro-Physics apo refrractor at f/4.5, with the Canon 20Da. Reprocessed in 2025.
