The Gem Cluster, NGC 3293, and area in Carina near the Carina Nebula. It is also known as the Diamonds and Rubies Cluster. The nebula below the cluster is NGC 3324, aka the Gabriela Mistral Nebula.

Taken with the 4-inch Astro-Physics refractor at f/4.5 with the AP compressor/field flattener and with APS-frame size Canon 20Da camera at ISO400 for a stack of 4 x 8 minute exposures. Shot from Coonabarabran, Australia, March 24, 2007. Reprocessed in 2025.
