Re-Entry of Shuttle STS79 over southern Alberta, September 26, 1996 at dawn.
Shuttle is gone here, moved off over Montana, leaving greenish train behind — the ionized "smoke" trail left by Shuttle. Train persisted for several minutes. Here it is beginning to spread out.
This image taken immediately after #2
Orion and winter-fall sky constellations visible. Venus is bright object left of smoke train.
16mm full-frame fish-eye lens. Ektachrome 400 slide film. Untracked exposure for about 40 seconds.
