The so-called "blue Moon" of March 1999, the second full Moon of March, on March 31

Taken with 5-inch apo refractor with 2X Barlow for effective f/12 and 1600mm focal length. Ektachrome 100 slide film.

Contrast boosted to enhance details (mare and rays). Mild color correction to neutralize Moon (it wasn't really blue!). Sky expanded with added black to create square frame for use in either horizontal or vertical layouts
