M35 Region (Askar V 60 Reducer).jpg
The rich region around the open star cluster Messier 35 (at top) in the feet of Gemini, with the nebulas IC 443 (aka the Jellyfish Nebula) at left, and NGC 2174/5 (aka the Monkeyhead Nebula) in Orion at bottom. Fainter nebulosity pervades the region. M35 itself is accompanied by the smaller star cluster NGC 2158 below it. The sparse cluster NGC 2129 is at far right. The two bright orange giant stars are Mu Geminorum (aka Tejat Posterior) at left and Eta Geminorum (aka Propus) at centre. The field is a very wide 7.5° by 5°.
This is a stack of 14 x 3-minute exposures with the Askar V scope with its 60mm objective and Reducer for f/4.5 with the filter-modified Canon R at ISO 800 and on the Sky-Watcher EQM-35 mount autoguided with the Lacerta MGEN3 autoguider. No filter was employed here, and this area was low in the west and near the end of its shooting season, so time was limited to shoot enough frames for a final stack. I shot these as a test of the Askar V scope to get some beauty shots suitable for its wide field of view.
