A panorama of the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory south of Calgary, Alberta at one of the annual Milky Way Nights, July 24, 2015, with about 700 people in attendance through the night. Here, in twilight and with the Moon still illuminating the scene, people set up their telescopes, look through telescopes run by the members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Calgary Centre, or line up to look through the big 1.8-metre telescope in the large dome at right. Or they just lie back on the grass and look up, watching for satellites and meteors, and waiting for the Milky Way to appear as the sky darkens. The view is looking northeast at centre, back toward Calgary and its bright lights illuminating the sky.

This is a panorama from 8 segments shot with the 24mm lens and Canon 6D, stitched with Photoshop.
