A capture in 2006 of what became known as STEVE, a sub-auroral arc caused by strong thermal emissions from horizontally flowing currents. Taken on the night of Sept. 30/Oct 1, 2006.

Technical:
With the Canon 20Da and Canon 10-22mm lens at 10mm and f/3.5 for 30 seconds. Reprocessed in 2025.
